Fellow Legionnaires, Good Morning, Tomorrow from 6 to 8 pm the Town of Remington will be holding its National Night Out at the Remington Community Gardens. Post 247 and Unit 247 will have a table at the event. Set-up is at 5:30pm. Please email Commander Pinsky and myself to let us know if you are able to be present at the American Legion table tomorrow night. Unit 247 will be providing a dinner for Post Members at 6;30pm on Thursday, 6 August 2026 prior to the monthly General Membership meeting. There will be Pulled pork and chicken with rolls, baked beans, crockpot green beans, caesar salad, cake and chocolate chip cookies. Please eml me tin order for me to give an accurate count of attendees for the meal preparation. At the Thursday night meeting, the General Membership will be voting on amending the ost reimbursement policy because of the change in the Department of Virginia's conference and convention schedule. The Post will also be voting on providing a yearly stipend to Unit 247 for its relevant Unit 247 projects, i.e Girls State. The amount of the stipend will be decided at the beginning of each Legion Year. The amount for 2026 - 207 Legion Year from Post 247 to Unit 247 is 1500.00 dollars.
