Welcome to American Legion Blue Sky Post 426 – Montana’s pioneering virtual post and the American Legion’s first of its kind. Members from across the United States and multiple nations convene here, eliminating the need for travel. This format saves time, promotes sustainability, and enables participation from anywhere—whether at home, deployed, or otherwise unable to attend in person. Established in October 2022 through the generosity of Dr. Sue Sisley, MD, our post utilizes her address for mail and any required in-person gatherings. Dr. Sisley is a leading advocate for veterans suffering from PTSD and chronic pain, dedicating over a decade to researching plant-based therapeutic alternatives. Our mission is to educate and advocate for the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense to expand research and access to psychedelics and cannabis-based medicines. Our membership includes distinguished physicians, researchers, practitioners, and patients. Recognizing that families bear significant burdens when veterans face service-related trauma, we are establishing a Family Auxiliary to provide dedicated support. In our inaugural year, we secured national American Legion approval for a resolution urging VA psychedelic research for PTSD—research now underway. We are currently pressing the VA to allocate Opioid Relief funds toward accelerated studies in psychedelics and cannabis.
