I would like to inform all Arcade-Phalen American Legion Post 577 member's that at our last month's meeting we were suppose to elect new Officer's to the Post from nomination's that took place in March. We had very few member's show up in April to elect so no election took place. Some Member's who were nominated didn't show up. I know some of you because of poor health and also live out of town can not come and that's understandable. We have 171 member's in our Post and only 7 showed up. Paying dues is great for the Legion but we need folks to come to the Post at least once a year and vote new officer's. Post Legion member's are the ones who make the decision's on how the post operates at our monthly meeting's. Now I as Commander Have also been tasked as Membership Director and I mail out a thank you for your renewal with time and dates for our Legion meeting's. I would think that more member's would show up to these meetings to vote on or make motion's that affects Arcade-Phalen Post Business, Veteran's and Community Heath and Well being. Since we still need to vote in our Officer's I'm calling a Special short Post 577 Legion Meeting May 5, 2026 at 6:00 PM to cast the votes for Post Officer's position's. Please attend if you can, we need more than 7 member's to vote not like we had in April. And If you were nominated and accepted for a Post Officer Position this Past March then you need to come to the meeting. Instillation of Officer's is May19, 2026.
