Officers and Members
As we begin the New Year, I want to express my deep appreciation for your service, leadership, and continued commitment to our veterans, families, and community. Your dedication has sustained Post 450 through challenges and successes alike, and it is that same spirit that will guide us forward in the months ahead.
Priorities for 2026:
- Strengthen fellowship and support — deepen connections among members and expand outreach to veterans in need.
- Grow membership and engagement — welcome transfers and new members, and create meaningful volunteer opportunities.
- Serve our community — increase visibility through service projects, veteran assistance programs, and public events.
- Honor tradition while embracing progress — preserve our core values and adapt where needed to better serve those we represent.
- Stewardship and transparency — manage Post resources responsibly and keep members informed and involved.
Your leadership matters. Officers: lead with clarity, compassion, and accountability. Members: bring your ideas, your time, and your voice. Volunteer for a committee, attend meetings, mentor newer members, and help us make Post 450 a place where every veteran feels seen and supported.
Together we will build on our legacy and meet the year ahead with purpose and pride. Thank you for your service, your time, and your unwavering commitment to The American Legion Leonard C. Barnes Post 450.
Respectfully,
Riley Young, Jr., Commander
Wilma Draughn-Davis, Adjutant
