We held our Monthly meeting on Thursday July 9th here is a brief rundown of what we covered. • Keith Gerhardt reported that IVHQ Passed the Certification Inspection for the Long-Term Care Facility and Paperwork is being processed to allow IVHQ to be reimbursed for care expenses from the Veterans Administration. The Transfer of remaining residents from Markward is tentatively scheduled for late August. A specific date has not yet been set. We will likely ask for Volunteers to help move the residents when the date is determined. • NAMI West Central Illinois is an organization of families, friends and individuals whose lives have been affected by mental illness. Together, we advocate for better lives for those individuals who have a mental illness. They will be holding a Walk to raise funds and increase awareness of their organization and mission on October 3rd 2026. They will have both a 1 Mile and a 5 K walk starting at 9:00 AM. We voted to become a sponsor of the event Links to the local organization as well as the event are below. NAMI West Central Illinois - Support for Mental Health NAMIWalks • The Adams County Fair will be held July 29th – August 4th. Manning a booth at the fair is pointless unless we have something to draw folks in. Paul Havermale offered to donate a Blackstone Griddle to raffle off. We will need Volunteers Monday through Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 12 – 8 PM. • Post Commanders Picnic & 15th District meeting at IVHQ Lippincott Hall on July 26th. We will need volunteers to help with the Grill and to deliver food to Residents. Those working the Grill should. • Membership Cards for the 2026 – 2027 Membership year should be out in early August. • Our next meeting will be on Thursday August 13th.
