The American Legion Barefoot Bay Post #366 was called to order on 11/18/2025 at 1300 Hrs. The Pledge of Allegiance and the American Legion Preamble were both recited. Following is an overview of the discussed items: • Veterans Day Ceremonies: The Ceremonies were moved into the Lounge due to inclement (cold) weather. The Parade continued on as planned. It was stated that the ceremony was “cozy” inside the Lounge but a greater comradery was achieved with the attendees. • Service Officers Report: We are starting to see more post-Viet Nam veterans at the Veterans Center. • Sandy Lobello Memorial Golf Tournament: The tournament will be held on February 7th and will be limited to the first 180 golfers. 80 in the morning session and 100 in the afternoon. The Parachute Sky Diver program is currently in limbo. We are actively looking for corporate donations to help defer the cost of the jumpers. We are openly looking for Hole Sponsorships, Closest to the Pin Sponsorships, and Door Prizes. If you can help in one of these donations, please contact the Golf Course after January 1st. The next Golf Tournament planning meeting will be on December 11th at 10:30 in the Veterans Meeting Center next to the Water Company Office. • The American Legion and Legion Auxiliary will have their Christmas party in Building D&E immediately after our scheduled meeting on December 16th. This is open to all Veterans, their spouses and widows. A light appetizer lunch will be provided. Put this on your calendar! We would love to see you!! • Starting in January, the American Legion Post will start something new. In order to make our meetings more inclusive and boost attendance, we will be providing a light lunch after our meeting. This will hopefully promote more discussions and comradery amongst the veterans attending. Stop by a meeting and join us. Meetings are every third Tuesday of the month at 1:00 in Building D&E. • If you are interested in joining the American Legion in the Christmas Parade, be in front of Building D&E at 4:00. Bags of candy will be provided to be thrown along the parade path. • A Celebration of Life will be held for Ray Bourgault on Saturday, January 24th at the Veterans Meeting Center from 11-2. A light lunch will be provided. Submitted For God and Country Jim McClintock
